«MPAK» production of packages and films with logo

«MPAK» is a brand of polyethylene film, roll packaging, packages with handles, bags, filler packages with pattern and logo produced in Ukraine.

Our manufacturing facility is a raw material processing and finished product manufacturing plant. We have launched a full-cycle production, in which all products go from polyethylene pellets to capacious bags or convenient packages with handles and a colorful patterns applied by flexoprinting.

Stages of production of plastic packages in Ukraine

Our plant in Ukraine has several main workshops, in which film and plastic packages are made, patterns are applied, equipment is repaired and put into operation.

Let’s take a short excursion and see the process of making a plastic bag that we all know so well, use every day at home, at work, in store.

Extruder workshop

Polyethylene film is produced by the extrusion method - air blowing of thermoplastic heated to a viscous-flow state. To do this, a special machine is used - an extruder that pushes the prepared mass through the molding hole and blows out a polyethylene sleeve.

Technological process stages can be briefly described as follows:

  1. Choice of raw materials based on the analysis of molding method, design of finished product and conditions of its operation.
  2. Checking the quality of a batch of raw materials.
  3. Loading into extruder hopper of polyethylene pellets, pigments, additives to give the film certain properties.
  4. Heating the composition to a viscous-flow state and its plasticization.
  5. Forming a viscous fluid mixture by forcing through a hole. As a result, a blank in the form of a sleeve.
  6. Inflation of the sleeve with air and its drawing to give a certain thickness, required size and formation of side folds.
  7. Cooling of the blank, coiling the sleeve and, if necessary, with further cutting into a sheet or half-sleeve.

Additionally, for further flexoprinting, polyethylene is treated with a corona charge to improve adhesion - more even and high-quality ink application.

We also produce polyethylene with degradants for manufacture of biodegradable eco-friendly packages that disappear when exposed to oxygen and UV radiation in 2-3 years and do not harm nature.

Our plans for the near future include production of organic ecopackages from natural hydromaterials (corn and potato starch), which are composted in soil and turn into a valuable plant fertilizer.

Polymer recycling workshop

Man began to produce so many complex and long-term decomposable inorganic waste that the problem of their processing has become one of the most relevant issues. In this regard, polyethylene is almost a perfect material. Its properties depend mainly on structure (the so-called “branching”) and size of the molecules, and not on any special qualities of the source raw material.

Therefore, we are developing the direction of recycling and making cheaper bags from it. The technology includes the stage of sorting and crushing of polymers in a shredder, and then feeding it into an extruder to form pellets with a diameter of 3-4 mm.

Flexographic printing workshop

Flexography is a fast drying ink printing technology on flexible materials. A flexible photopolymer mold (cliche) is used for it, which has the following important characteristics: run length, excellent print quality on material of any thickness, obtaining a bright, colorful and clear print, low cost. Therefore, we use flexographic printing method for applying logo, inscriptions and patterns to the bags.

Two types of machines are suitable for flexography: tiered and with a central printing roller (used for complex patterns, photo transfer). Low viscosity alcohol-based inks can be used for printing. Color scheme depends on number of printing units. 1-6 sections can have a maximum of 6+6 colors (double-sided printing of 6 colors on each side), and this is already a very rich palette of colors that allows you to achieve excellent color rendition and high quality, “true genuineness”. Main basic colors of printing are CMYK: cyan, magenta, yellow, black.

Thanks to pre-treatment with corona charge, the ink is not only applied to the film surface, but penetrates into its structure. You get more durable pattern, it does not wear off for a long time, colors remain bright.

Package making workshop
The workshop in which we manufacture packages and bags is equipped with package-making machines, which are devices for contact-heat welding. A blank (sleeve, half sleeve) is fed to the line, where it is processed with a soldering knife. The result is a bag with side or bottom seams.

The next stage in the production of finished products is manufacture of handles. They can be cut out of the sleeve (the result is that very T-shirt bag that is most often used in supermarkets), welded (loop), reinforcement (D-cut bag) can be welded to the oval cut.

Programed equipment monitors compliance with the size of the batch of packages or bags, counts and folds them, prepares them to be further packaged and shipped to the customer.

Mechanical assembly workshop

Our plant mechanical workshop for the production of film and plastic bags is equipped with turning, locksmith, and milling machines. Here we perform current and planned repair of main and auxiliary production equipment, we manufacture separate units for machines according to drawings, improve elements of extruders, package-making machines, flexoprinting equipment. We have dexterous masters with vast experience who thoroughly know the production and can accurately identify any breakdown.

Thanks to such well-coordinated work of our entire team, we were able to establish the production of packages in Ukraine, fulfill any orders within the deadline agreed, make quality products and at the same time offer low wholesale prices.
